How AMB glass first started
out ...........
ALLAN BRADFORD had a
clear view for the future when he decided to expand the family double
glazing business. The Malvern businessman has seen the company that he
started in his parent’s garage in the town two decades ago, develop a
nationwide reputation.
AMB Glass and Malvern Windows
supply quality domestic UPVC windows, doors and conservatories, as well as
general and specialist glazing. The company also has a glass trade counter
which is popular with the general public as well as builders and tradesmen.
The glazing service is also offered to a galaxy of major house builders
like Charles Church, Crosby Homes, Barratt Homes,
Linfords, Speller Metcalfe and Borderoak and recently won a contract to glaze a
300-year-old dome roof at the historic Stowe Public School in Buckinghamshire, for which
Mr Bradford had to source specialist antique mouth blown laminated glass.
Our workforce of 14
covers the West Midlands, Wales and the South West to cover
every aspect of glazing. We provide a 24 hour emergency board and secure
service, shop front glazing, commercial and domestic glazing, as well as
UPVC windows, conservatories, facias and
guttering.
We also make bespoke
mirrors and cut glass to size for both the domestic market and the building
trade, this can usually be done while you wait. The company has been
manufacturing its own custom-made, hermetically sealed, double glazed units
for more than 25 years. They are guaranteed against sealant breakdown and
comply with British Standards.
AMB Glass and Malvern Windows are
also FENSA registered and on a recent FENSA inspection the company achieved
perfect marks for workmanship throughout.
“I don’t
think I ever envisaged we would be such a successful company with our own
purpose built factory,” said Allan, who runs the business with his
wife, Martine.
“We started in
my parent’s garage, then moved to Wilmot Road and then, bought the land and
built the factory at Spring Lane, Malvern. Now we have a nationwide
reputation for hard work and first class service that seems to be spreading
all the time. “Besides fitting and replacing UPVC windows, doors and
conservatories, we also offer a specialist service such as the work at
Stowe. Under a glass dome is apparently one of the most valuable ceilings
in the country and we are very honoured to be doing the job".

AMB Glass also carried out
glazing works for the new Brooklyn car factory in Worcester installing specialist fire
glass and has recently installed new UPVC windows at The Plough and Harrow pub in Malvern.
